CCJHS is proud to welcome Falen Chappell, our new 6th Grade Math Teacher.

A little about Mrs. Chappell: "I've been married to my husband for almost 12 years this September, and we have two amazing boys, ages 11 and 7, who keep life exciting and keep us laughing. As ah Army brat, I moved around quite a bit before my family settled in Copperas Cove in 1999. I graduated from Copperas Cove High in 2003 and later earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Angelo State University.
My teaching career started in East Texas, where I taught sixth grade- and I absolutely loved it! I've always hoped I'd find my way back to middle school, so this opportunity feels like everything has come full circle. After that, my family lived in Austin for six years, where both of my boys were born. In 2020, we decided to move back to Copperas Cove so our boys could grow up surrounded by grandparents, cousins, and all the family that means so much to us. It was one of the best decisions we've made, and family time is something I truly treasure.
I returned to teaching in 2022 at CPE, where I started in second grade before moving to fourth grade, where I've spent the last three years. I was blessed to wok alongside some incredible educators and be part of an amazing fourth grade team. They became more than co-workers- they became great friends -- and I'll always be thankful for my time there.
When I'm not at school, you'll usually find me building LEGO flower sets (they never need watering!), catching a movie with my family, spending time in the pool, or planning our next family adventure and finding fun new places to explore together.
I'm looking forward to this new chapter, strengthening my expertise in math instruction while continuing to grow as an educator, learning from all of you, and hopefully getting to teach some of my former students again. I can't wait to meet everyone, make new connections, and be part of such an amazing school. Here's to a fantastic year!"

Survivor Day 7- Day 7 of Survivor concluded with ping pong chaos. Teams had to use a folded piece of paper as a canal and with a partner leapfrog a ping pong ball down to a second basket. Once all ten ping pong balls were transported, they had to turn around and leapfrog them back to the original basket. Once back in the original basket they had to land all ten ping pong balls in the second basket, which proved to be quite difficult and exciting. The first to complete the challenge won a reward.

Survivor Day 6- Today's challenge was truly a challenge. Teams had to work together, using a rubberband apparatus to stack and unstack a 21-cup tower, one cup at a time. In between the stacking and unstacking, they had to solve two of four logic puzzles. There was lots of groaning and complaining with this one. One wrong touch and down the tower comes. But... it was fun!

Spanish Club's Last Fiesta!!! Students had a great time today! They enjoyed traditional Mexican food (tacos, quesadillas, arroz, refried beans) and salsas, guacamole, pico de gallo, and traditional candies. Also, spend time crafting maracas and coloring some piñata wooden ornaments. They had fun playing “ponle la cola al burro” and lotería.
It was a wonderful and joyful time for all of us Bullpups!

Day 3 of Survivor is done and we had a blast. Two students had to balance one foot on a board. If during the challenge they touched their foot to the floor, they would be out, and if the second person touched down, their team was disqualified. While the two students were balancing, the rest of the team had to solve a word scramble puzzle, then land nine rings around a bottle of water. Not as easy as it sounds, just ask those who were standing on one foot. The first to finish won a team reward.
