Ryan Stewart

Ryan Stewart is currently Director of Bands at Copperas Cove Junior High School.  He directs the Wind Ensemble, and assists the Symphonic Band and Concert Band.  He also teaches beginning bassoon, clarinet, and saxophone classes.

This is Mr. Stewart's twenty-first year teaching with the Copperas Cove Independent School District, and his twenty-fifth year teaching. Before teaching in Copperas Cove, he taught in Gatesville, Texas and West Orange, Texas.  Under his direction, his bands have earned the ratings of Superior, Excellent, and "Best in Class."

Mr. Stewart is a graduate of North Lamar High School in Paris, Texas.  Mr. Stewart holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.  While attending Baylor University, he had the privilege of studying under Dr. Richard A. Shanley and Mr. Michael Haithcock.

His professional affiliations include Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Educators Association, and International Clarinet Association.

Kathryn Kelley

Kathryn Kelley is currently Assistant Director of Bands at Copperas Cove Junior High School. She directs the Symphonic Band and assists the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band. She also teaches beginning flute, oboe, and French horn classes.

This is Ms. Kelley's fifth year teaching with the Copperas Cove Independent School District, and her sixth year teaching. Before teaching in Copperas Cove, she taught in Killeen, Texas.  Under her direction, her bands have earned the ratings of Superior.

Ms. Kelley is a graduate of Copperas Cove High School in Copperas Cove, Texas.  Ms. Kelley holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where she had the privilege of studying under Helen Ann Shanley and Dr. Francesca Arnone.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Flute Performance from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where she studied under Timothy Hutchins.  Ms. Kelley also holds a certificate for The Flute Studio in Hastingleigh, Kent (UK), where she studied under noted flutist, educator, and author Trevor Wye.

Jolene Travis

Jolene Travis is currently Assistant Director of Bands at Copperas Cove Junior High School.  She directs the Concert Band and assists the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. She also teaches beginning trumpet, trombone, euphonium, and tuba classes.  Mrs. Travis is also an instructor for the Copperas Cove High School Pride of Cove Marching Band.

This is Mrs. Travis’s fourth year teaching with the Copperas Cove Independent School District, and her eighth year teaching. Before teaching at Copperas Cove JH, she taught at S.C. Lee JH and in Crandall, TX.  Under her direction, her bands have earned the ratings of Superior and Excellent.

Mrs. Travis holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Millersville University of Pennsylvania.  She is an alumnus of The Reading Buccaneers (2009-2014) and The Cadets (2015) Drum and Bugle Corps, whereas she won DCA World Championships and DCI's Jim Ott High Brass Award. 

Her professional affiliations include Texas Bandmasters Association and Texas Music Educators Association.

Frank Jacobo

Frank Jacobo is currently District Coordinator of Percussion for Copperas Cove I.S.D.  As an Associate Director at Copperas Cove High School he directs the Concert Band as well as assists the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and the Pride of Cove Marching Band.  At Copperas Cove Junior High, he assists with teaching percussion in the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band as well as teaching beginning percussion.

This is Mr. Jacobo's sixth year teaching with the Copperas Cove Independent School District, and his sixth year teaching.  Under his direction, his bands have earned the rating of Superior.

Mr. Jacobo is a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in San Antonio, Texas.  Mr. Jacobo holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.  While attending Texas State University, he had the privilege of studying under Dr. Mary Ellen Cavitt and Mr. Genaro Gonzalez.  He is very active with Drum Corps International and WGI, Sport of the Arts independent groups.  Mr. Jacobo is currently on the battery staff for the open class finalist, Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps as well at the battery staff for the WGI open class finalist, Rhythmic Force Percussion.

His professional affiliations include Texas Bandmasters Association, and Texas Music Educators Association.  Mr. Jacobo proudly endorses Salyers Percussion.
