Beginning Band

This UIL (University Interscholastic League) elective is intended for students interested in playing and performing on musical instruments with little or no prior knowledge.  This class is for students wishing to participate in band at the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.  Students must be interviewed by a band director prior to the start of the school year to help determine which instrument they are best suited to play.  Instrument selection will be determined by the director with the interest of the student in mind. This class meets on a daily basis in preparation for concerts throughout the school year.  Students enrolled in Beginning Band are required to participate in Solo & Ensemble. 

Concert Band 

This UIL (University Interscholastic League) elective is an auditioned group intended for students interested in playing and performing on musical instruments having at least completed one year of band.  This class meets on a daily basis in preparation for concerts throughout the school year, as well as pep rallies and athletic events.  Students enrolled in Concert Band are required to participate in All-Region Band, Solo & Ensemble, and UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation. 

Symphonic Band

This UIL (University Interscholastic League) elective is an auditioned group intended for students interested in playing and performing on musical instruments having at least completed one year of band.  This class meets on a daily basis in preparation for concerts throughout the school year, as well as pep rallies and athletic events.  Students enrolled in Symphonic Band are required to participate in All-Region Band, Solo & Ensemble, and UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation. 

Wind Ensemble

This UIL (University Interscholastic League) elective is an auditioned group intended for students interested in playing and performing on musical instruments having at least completed one year of band.  This class meets on a daily basis in preparation for concerts throughout the school year, as well as pep rallies and athletic events.  A greater level in difficulty of music requires members to possess exceptional musicianship and good work ethic.  Students enrolled in the Wind Ensemble are required to participate in All-Region Band, Solo & Ensemble, and UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation.
