Happy Earth Day, April 22nd 2026. CCJHS students in Mrs. Abercrombie's art class wanted to bring awareness to protecting our Earth. This art installation in CCJHS's foyer was made to show how doing our part can make a big impact on the Earth. Reuse, Reduce, Recycle and take care of our planet " was a repeated message in a lot of the artwork. Let's make every day Earth Day!

💜 Purple Up! Day – Honoring Our Military-Connected Students 💜
On April 15th, our military-affiliated students had an incredible opportunity to visit the National Mounted Warrior Museum and the 1st Cavalry Division Horse Cavalry Detachment. Students enjoyed an engaging tour where they not only learned about the history and traditions of the Cavalry, but also had the unique chance to interact with the horses—an experience they won’t forget! 🐎
This special day allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of the sacrifices and experiences their family members in the military may have gone through, making it both meaningful and memorable.
This experience was made possible through the collaboration of Mrs. Perez, JS2S Sponsor (Military Connection Organization), Mrs. Montenegro, Military Family Life Consultant, and Coach Tippens, Veteran. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff at the museum and the soldiers of the 1st Cavalry Division for their warm hospitality and for making this day so impactful for our students. 🇺🇸

Yesterday, Spanish 1 students participated in an interactive puzzle-based activity designed to enhance vocabulary proficiency and promote active engagement. The activity required students to identify and match vocabulary “pieces” related to ropa y colores (clothing and colors) in order to complete designated illustrations. Working collaboratively in teams, each group assigned specific roles: a Leader, responsible for verifying English to Spanish translations using a provided reference list; a Player, tasked with locating the correct puzzle pieces; and Organizers, who assembled the puzzle. Each piece featured an illustration along with the corresponding Spanish vocabulary word and color.

Students were highly engaged throughout the activity, demonstrating strong collaboration and consistent practice of the Spanish language. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience while reinforcing their understanding of clothing-related terms in Spanish.
