Mrs. Abercrombie held an art design contest for the best skateboard design in art class, and he bar far was the winner. "I wish I could have put his design on the skateboard that would have been super cool," she said. He won a new Tony Hawk 3rd level advanced skateboard!

Congratulations to our CCJHS super counselors, Ms. Yoshenobia Harris and Mrs. Julie Armstrong, who have been awarded the CREST award for the second consecutive year!

The Texas School Counselor Association recently awarded our campus its CREST honors, which stands for Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas, for their continued improvement in providing school counseling programs to demonstrate effective communication and a commitment to obtaining results. The award was for efforts in the 2024-25 school year.

The students in Ms. Bryant's Farm to Table classes took the pecans that they harvested earlier in the week and made pecan pies. Way to go, Pups! Happy Thanksgiving!

This past Saturday, CCJH’s Junior Student-to-Student (JS2S) program hosted a special Month of the Military Family Luncheon to celebrate and honor our military families. Our JS2S students did an amazing job welcoming and serving our guests.
A big thank-you to Chef Mr. Scott and his Culinary students for preparing a wonderful meal, and Mrs. Perez, JS2S Sponsor, for leading this event with heart and dedication.

The Farm to Table classes harvested the Pecans from the Pecan trees growing on campus and worked on shelling them. The gathered pecan pieces will be used to make Pecan Pies next week.

What made you decide to pursue School Counseling?
"I was strongly motivated by the opportunity to advocate for all students, particularly those from diverse or underserved backgrounds, and to help create a more inclusive and equitable school environment."

What is one of your favorite quotes?
"Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it." - Maya Angelou"

What is one of your hobbies?
"If you know me, you know that one of my hobbies is shopping. I LOVE SHOPPING."

Who is one of your heroes/role models?
"My Mom. My Mom is strength, love, and courage all wrapped into one. She taught me life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful."

What is something that makes you smile?
"Nothing makes me SMILE more than seeing other people's enjoyment or to hear their exciting news. It's contagious."

What is your favorite coping skill for stress?
"Cooking! Cooing is my therapy. Cooking is my love language. Cooking is a caring and nurturing act. It's kind of the ultimate gift for someone to cook for them."

What do you love most about your job?
"The primary source of satisfaction is the ability to positively impact students' academic, career, and social-emotional development."
