Communities in Schools
Communities in Schools (CIS) is a federally funded program that offers mentoring and enrichment to enhance the students' educational experience.
My job as the CIS Site Director here at Copperas Cove Junior High is to link families, teachers, students, and the communities in which they live to work toward your student’s success. CIS is a valuable tool in making the learning process enjoyable and can be a great part in the foundation for their achievements later in life. CIS provides services to students and their families with respect to the following categories:
Supportive Guidance and Counseling
Health and Human Services Coordination
Parent and Family Involvement
Career and College Awareness
Enrichment Activities and Experiences
Educational Enhancement and Academic Support
CIS can also provide school supplies, clothing, basic needs items, and contact with other resources as needed. CIS also collaborates with the Sight for Students program which helps students and their families obtain free eye exams and glasses if necessary. Some restrictions do apply, contact the CIS office for more details.
For your child to participate in CIS activities and to take advantage of the services we provide, your student must be enrolled in our program. Enrollment and participation are free! Simply contact me for an enrollment packet at the email address below.
I am looking forward to working with the kids to make sure they have everything they need to succeed. If you have any questions, please contact me at 254-547-6959 or via email Mildred Rodriguez.
