Hands-on learning in action! 🐸🔬
Mr. Whitfield and Mrs. Wilkinson’s 7th graders dove into the world of biology by dissecting frogs to explore anatomy and see firsthand how body systems work together. Experiences like this bring science to life, spark curiosity, and build a deeper understanding beyond the textbook. Proud of these students for their focus, teamwork, and respect during this exciting lab! 👏🧪

Let your Flags Fly! CCJHS's flagpole had issues this morning that had Mr. Taylor trying to capture the flags when the anchoring cord broke loose. Thanks to his quick thinking, the flags are now safe and flying high. Meanwhile, Mr. Max, our CIS mentor, taught the students how to correctly fold the flags for storage #Honorthe flag#USA!.

Wednesday, February 11, was all about LOVE at our school! ❤️💗 Pink and red filled the halls as we celebrated kindness and community. Our JS2S students showed extra love by treating teachers to drinks and snacks — because our educators deserve it! 💙 #JS2S #BulldawgLove #SchoolFamily

Art students in Mrs. Elena Abercrombie's classes made Valentine's to fill the hallways at CCJHS. Student art was posted on the windows down the main hall to decorate for the upcoming holiday. Happy Valentine's Day, Bullpup Nation!!!

The spring semester has brought new opportunities for the students at CCJHS. Afternoon Clubs have taken the play. With everything from coloring to archery, the students have a wide variety of choices to spend their time. Clubs are open to one and all.

Guilmaris Fuller-Quinones' Career & College Explorations classes took a field trip last month to CCHS' CTE building to see the career opportunities open to them. The sixth graders got a first-hand look at all of the CTE Programs and got to interact in some lessons.

CCJHS celebrated the 100th Day of School on February 9th by challenging students to dress up as if they were 100 years old! Students Eliza Gashi and Jayden Cooksey stepped up and knocked it out of the park! Way to represent Bullpup Nation!!!

"Our elementary and secondary school counselors recently spent dedicated time collaborating with counselors from across the state to strengthen their expertise and better support CCISD students.
During this professional learning experience, they expanded their skills in sand tray therapy, explored new career‑readiness strategies, learned about valuable community resources, and discovered ways to help students earn more grants and financial assistance as they prepare for graduation.
We are also proud to celebrate our counselors who earned the prestigious CREST Award, advocated for students and the counseling profession at the state level, and even presented sessions to teach and inspire other counselors at the conference.
This time of connection, professional growth, and collaboration left our counselors energized, encouraged, and ready to bring new ideas back to campus."
Happy #SchoolCounselorWeek2026!

Our leadership team has continued to evaluate weather and road conditions across our community, as well as the forecast, and we’ve remained in constant communication with all appropriate agencies. With today’s warm-up, conditions have improved enough that Copperas Cove ISD will reopen and return to class on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at its normal start time.
CCISD buses will run at their normal time, and breakfast will be served at its normal time at every campus. Parents are encouraged to ensure their student is dressed warmly for the day.
Once students and staff return tomorrow, the district will begin a review of whether any changes to the academic calendar are required alongside district staff and the Board of Trustees. If so, those will communicated with families as soon as possible.
